Abstract - Testing for safety instrumented systems (SIS) has long been required by OSHA 1910.119 and ANSI/ISA-84.01-1996. Two users will explain testing and the impact of ANSI/ISA-84.00.01-2004 (IEC 61511mod). Examples demonstrate off-line and on-line testing as well as the potential hazards of safety instrumented system testing.
